About this Work

Since ancient times, the Psalms have been an integral part of worship offered to Yahweh. From Moses (Psalm 90) to King David, these works of poetry were put to music and sung as an offering of praise and veneration to the true Elohim of Israel. Although the music was long ago lost, the Psalms have survived as a way of expressing adoration and devotion to our Heavenly Father.

The selections available here are taken from the 1901 American Standard Version. We have revised portions of the text by restoring the Name of our Heavenly Father (Yahweh), the Name of His Son (Yahshua), along with proper Hebrew titles such as Elohim, El and Eloah. Where necessary, we examined the Hebrew texts and looked at various other translations to ensure accuracy. Following the evidence presented in the Masoretic Text, we restored Yahweh to those verses where the Sopherim (scribes) changed Yahweh to Adonai and where they changed Yahweh to Elohim (Psalm 14:1, 2, 5 and 53:1, 2, 4, 5). In order to make the text easier to read and understand, and to better reflect the flavor of the original Hebrew text, we have substituted modern English words for archaic Old English words.

We thank Almighty Yahweh for overseeing and blessing this project and dedicate this book to His honor and glory.
